Ghar Ka Khaana…vs Bahar ka Khaana
Many of us stay away from home and we miss home-cooked food. We visit many restaurants and food joints with friends but at the end we utter one-word
Ghar ka Khaana…Khaana Hota Hai.
Yes, I am talking about the home cooked food we miss, when we stay away from Home.
We must cook the food we miss…
I believe Food connects people—it gets you talking, lets you show your love or support for someone, and helps add feelings of comfort and well-being. When a loved one is ill, you show your concern by cooking a pot of soup or preparing a cup of tea. When you celebrate a birthday, you bake a cake.
Food is an Emotion, connection, comfort, and celebration that connects us all.
Whenever someone tells me that they just do not know how to cook, I have to roll my eyes (#sorrynotsorry). Cooking is not like baking—you don’t have to follow a recipe precisely for something to turn out well. There are only a few rules you must follow and with time you will be a pro in cooking.
Is Cooking that tough? No, it is not…
I started cooking when I was doing my graduation away from my parents and stayed in a rented apartment with friends. I used to stay with two of my batchmates. We used to try anything and everything in our kitchen, the cooking journey for me began in the year 2008.
I used to miss home-cooked food, but with time I learned how to master it … Today after more than 12 Years of cooking, I am pro at some of the dishes…., but still can’t make a roti like MOM. (Made maps of different countries)
Why we should cook food at home/ why we miss home cooked food.?
The main reasons for missing home-cooked food may be attributed to the lack of variety in substance and taste. Restaurants /Mess/Canteens/Dabba walas/Dhaba walas use enormous quantities of spices and oils to make their food tasty. They use the same masalas/ spices for all preparations and mask the actual taste. I feel dal, rajma, etc just taste the same with some spices.
Ingredients used like Veggies, Masalas are not fresh and freshly grounded.
Home food is blended with ‘extra’ ingredients like Love, Care, Dedication, and a special Mother’s touch makes meals delicious which cannot be found at any other place but only at “home”.
So, while Bahar ka khana adds spice to your palate for a few days it surely cannot beat the goodness of Ghar ka khhttps://spoonuniversity.com/lifestyle/5-things-to-do-when-youre-homesick-for-moms-cookingaana!
Cooking has now become my Hobby
That’s a very well expressed emotion Suman. Raring to try your “Home Cooked” food soon. And vice versa. ????????????
